New distributional records of Celonites tauricus (Hymenoptera, Vespidae, Masarinae) and new data on its behaviour at flowers

New records of Celonites tauricus Kostylev, 1935 are reported from Chios, Rhodes, Samos (Greece), Dagestan (Russia), Georgia, and the main portion Azerbaijan (previous were made Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic only). Flower visits imagines observed at six species Lamiaceae, four them being recorded for first time as forage plants C. . The newly Teucrium canum Fisch. & C.A. Mey. Ziziphora taurica M. Bieb. (both Lamiaceae) principal in Crimea, correspondingly. behaviour females flowers Z. differs that previously described chamaedrys L. Satureja thymbra (also pollen removal anthers nectar uptake take place separately each other temporal succession. This difference is obviously caused by flower structure genus , specifically its much longer corolla tube. Females also try to collect Salvia nemorosa subsp. tesquicola (Klokov Pobed.) Soó but usually without success, while this successful. specialized morphological structures pollen-uptake nototribic pollen-transfer exoskeleton mouthparts described. They similar those closely related abbreviatus (Villers, 1789), consist stiff “knobbed” pollen-collecting setae covering anterior surface head, particularly frons clypeus, well comb-like rows specialized, strong pollen-brushing along margins inner second segments fore tarsi.
